The membership of the BPAA meets on a regular basis for different events throughout the year. Outside amateur piano events can be viewed here

Soirees are opportunities for members to play for each other in a comfortable surrounding. These events can host anywhere from 10 to 30 people or more, and are usually held at members homes, but sometimes take place at public venues. There is no charge to attend or participate in a Soiree, but everyone is asked to provide something for the group to eat or drink.

Videos from our July 2011 Soiree can be viewed by BPAA members here (this area is password protected).

Master Classes

Master classes are arranged with professional pianists from any of the prestigious conservatories and universities in the Boston area. Members of the association must pay a fee to defray the cost of the venue and the instructor. Other members and the public may attend as auditors for a small charge.

Master classes have been included as part of the our International Piano Competitions since 2011.

International Competitions

Every other year the BPAA hosts an international competition. Our Eighth Boston International Piano Competition was held in June 2015 at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA.

Additional information is on our Competitions page.
