Events
The membership of the BPAA meets on a regular basis for different events throughout the year. Outside amateur piano events can be viewed here.
Soirees
Soirees are opportunities for members to play for each other in a comfortable surrounding. These events can host anywhere from 10 to 30 people or more, and are usually held at members homes, but sometimes take place at public venues. There is no charge to attend or participate in a Soiree, but everyone is asked to provide something for the group to eat or drink.
Videos of our July 2011 Soiree can be viewed by BPAA members here (this area is password protected).
Master Classes
Master classes are arranged with professional pianists from any of the prestigious conservatories and universities in the Boston area. Members of the association must pay a fee to defray the cost of the venue and the instructor. Other members and the public may attend as auditors for a small charge.
Master classes were held as part of the 5th Boston International Piano Competition on May 21-24, 2009. Look for more information on the Competition page.
International Competitions
Every other year the BPAA hosts an international competition. Our Sixth Boston International Piano Competition was held from Thursday, June 23rd to Sunday, June 26th, 2011 at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
